We're famous! Mumma submitted our pictures to Downeast Dog News. Right now, we're the first two pictures in the Enjoying Maine's Great Outdoors album! Isn't that exciting.

Other than that, I've been kinda icky feeling. Saturday I had die-a-re-a, then Sunday and Monday I didn't go poopy at all, then today I had a regular poopy and a really soft poopy. So I have been eating rice and chicken or kibble or kibble with yogurt. Mmm....

Momma and Dad had a friend who did a waterscolors painting of Sidka and I. It's hanging on our wall now. I look so good, don't I!

Mommy took me and my Uncle Milo (the beagle) to the post office and then to the park today. Guesses what? At the post office, there was a box just for me!! (Even though it was just for me, I still let Milo and Ginny borrow one for a little while...So at the park, mommy helped me open it (darn not having thumbs) and inside were FOUR ribbon necklaces from Hana and her Mommy!! FOUR! WOW!!

I gots a purple, pink and polka dotted blue one for springs and summers.

A black, gold and brown on for falls and formal pictures (like Mumma and Dadda's gagement pictures).
A navy blue, lavender blue and bright blue one for winters and springs.
And then there was a surprise one! It's a black and red polka dotted one for Halloweens! I'm gonna be a lady bug and now I can practice before halloweens! I already can dance like a bug!!

Do you all think I look like a top model yet?

New brother...

Mommy and Daddy brought home that new brother....his name is Checkers (like the checkered flag for racing)! He is cute, but I'm still kinda wary.
He is a 26 day old Syrian hamster. Right now he's pretty small, but Mom says he will get to be about 5-7 inches.
I still think that's kind of small. I don't think Sidka has notice there's a new family member. But Ginny and I have noticed!

Mom says this is it for pets for now...I wonder how long "for now" means?

Play Time!

Play Time at the D Residence!
Here's my method...
First, I take out some toys I like.
Then I sit and do eany, meany, miny, mo.

Then I take the first one and play. Then the second one and play.
Sometimes the toys get a little carried away with me! Right here we were rolling around when mommy gots a picture!
Then, I take a nappy on a pile of blankets and pillows with my toys in reach. (Can you see Ginny trying to sneak a look at MY toys?!)

New Brother

Mommy and Daddy are getting Sidka, Ginny, Pooka and I a new brotha!
So now, Daddy and Sid won't be so out numbered...now it will be 3 to 4 instead of 2 to 4! Mommy and me thinks we should get another boy rat terrier, then it would be even...4 to 4.

My new brother doesn't have a name yet, Mommy and Daddy are picking him up tomorrow. He is brown, mommy says he's called sable for a color (like I'm called tri-color). And he's smaller than me and he has his own crate. But wait a minute...he has a wheel. And no leash...and he likes to chew on wood instead of squeakers...I
'm not sure I'm so into this brother thing anymore...

What a Weekend!

I had a busy weekend! You all know about mine and Jove's trip to the stores and parks. That was fun!

And then yesterday, I met one of Jove's sisters--Maggie.

She was purty nice! We went to the stores again really quickly so mommy could have my easy walk adjusted (but then she still took it off of me...!)

And then we went for a long walk on the Rail Trail!

I loved that! I got to meet lots of new doggies and Maggie and I got to do some girl talks and mommy got some exercise!
Except, at the end, I really wanted mommy to hurry up to get back into the car--my furs are shorts, not long like Sid's!!

We had fun though--and boy am I pooped!

Today we just relaxed!

Oh, and I played with toys of course!!

Tomorrow Mommy has schools, but Daddy will be able to spend time with me! Then Wednesday Mommy and Daddy and I will get to spend more times together!

Oh, and look to the right to see an essay my mommy found on a discussion board--it's about doggies finding good homes! We like it a lot and if anyone knows the author, please tell us!

Well, nows I gots to help mommy with her homework, we'll talk later!!

One week in!

I've been in my new home for one week. I am happy, warm, and well fed! Mommy even thinks I may have gained a half pound or so, we will see! The vet said it was okays if I gained a pound or so, but not a lot. Mommy has me on a careful diet because she doesn't want me to gobble too much food at once!

Mommy has taken me to tons of new places! We went to PetSmart and the parks

and to Daddy's work and to Auntie's house and so many other places. I get along well with my human cousins, I love them! I am still getting used to Daisy, my Auntie's big doggy. She likes to sniff me, maybe when the muds dries up outside, we will run together and play!

I love going to PetSmart because I get to meet new doggies and sometimes mommy buys me new toys. At first, in this new home, I was scared to play with toys, but now I love it! Mommy and Daddy got me a kong like Sidka's, except mine is small and red. (Sid's is black and HUGE!). I like having some peanut butter in it and mommy takes it out of the freezer all cold--mmmm, yummy!
As you can see in this picture, Mommy has made me a few different bandannas. I like wearing them when we go places--people notice me more and I get lots of compliments!

Yesterday I met Jove, boy, is he nice! He even helped me get over my fear of peeing in public! He showed me were to pee and I copied him! Our moms were so proud! Here we are reading this memorial stone in the state park. Jove is another rat terrier like me, except his is a little bigger and he's got grey colors instead of tri-colors like me. I like Jove a lot. He doesn't bark much and even though he can't hear me, I know we're going to be best of friends!

One small step for dog...

One giant leap for dog kind...that's what they say, right? I mean, that Meal Arm Long guy, he knows what he's talking about!

I have been home for 3 1/2 days. I think I'm fitting in really well! The hardest part about being the new girl is the accent! I mean, c'mon y'all. What is all this "cah", "rud", "fahm" stuff?! Here's a good zample of this: Mommy has been telling me to go "pawty" outside. Well, every dog knows what that means--there's a pawty coming up! So every time we'd go out on that leash (that's a whole nother blog!) I'd get x'cited for a pawty. Well, come to find out, she wasn't saying "pawty" (well, I still think she was), she was trying to say "pot-tea". I'm not sure what your pawents call it, but my foster mom called it "pot-tea" and I knew what it meant.
This whole "pawty" thing is just plain fuzzen!

Here I am thinking "C'mon mom, I'm in my jacket, I'm out in this cold,
where is the pawty!!"

After the first coupla times of not getting a pawty, I realized what she was trying to get me to do. Once I did it, she clapped and danced and gave me a treat. She also talked in this high voice....I liked the treat part! So, now I go pot-tea outside in the grass. Before, I was holding it all ins. I only made one poppy mistake my first night home. The rest, I just helds in. But, the vet said my blad-ah (what's that every dog?) wasn't too full, so my mommy felt better. The vet also said some doggies don't go poopy as much as Sidka--and darn...that boy goes poopy a whollllee lot!

Oh, I almost forgot! I went to the vets yesterday and I met Dr. Penny Bennington and some other nice girls. It was a regular ol' girls day in! She did my nails and she combed my hairs. But then, she got all weirds on me and she pinched my back a little, man that hurt. Then, she tried looking into my brain through my ears--with a flashlight. I thought vets were smart--why was she trying to light up my brains?! There's a picture of mommy looking up flash lights, brains and vets on google. I couldn't make much sense of it, so I felled asleep on her shoulders.

Mommy says I'm making real "progdress". I'm not sure what that means. But, dresses reminds me of pawties and pawties reminds me I gotta gooo!!!!

Finally HOME!

Hi all dogs!
This is an exciting time for everyone! I don't want to bore you all with tons of words and little pictures, so we'll do big pictures and little words!

This is the transport trailer that I rode in from Arkansas to Tennessee, then from Tennessee to New Hampshire!

I am so happy my foster Mom Judy mentioned my name to my new mommy and daddy! They talked a long long time and they finally found a dog for them--me!! I traveled from Arkansas to Maine--between Thursday (April 3, 2008) and Saturday (April 5, 2008). Boy am I glad to be in my furever home!

I am home! I had a long, long rides, but now I am home, safe and sound and tail wagging happy! (Even though it is a pretty small tail!) I got home yesterday afternoon where I was welcomed by two kitts and one hyper dog!

The picture below is me in my new home, I was in the middle of telling mommy how much I love her, so my tongue is sticking outs! Oh, and you can see my new collar real good in this picture!

I'm doing well, very excited! I will write a blog with more substance tomorrow once I've got some rest! Last night was pretty hectic, but today should be okay!

Omidogness! It is only four more days until I can meet and go home with my new mommy and daddy! I wonder if Sidka is excited! And I wonder if those kitties will like me! Oh, I'm so anxious!

We overnight the dogs at our house in Cookeville, east of Nashville, and the transport leaves out Friday, mid morning, and they drive through the night to arrive on Saturday. There are 3 drivers, one being Kyle, so they take turns sleeping.

Mommy says the place in New Hampsters is about 2 hours, but Dad says about 2 hours and 30 minutes...but Mommy says Dad drives real sloowww....so I guess we'll see! I'm excited to see Maine and all the trees and my new dog brother and my new cat sisters!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm just not excited about all this car rides...

Doggy Pillow!

Mommy finished my new doggy pillow yesterday! It looks so pretty! I can't wait to sleep on it on the ride to my new home! Mommy picked really nice pink fleecies! I think it looks really warm! I heard Sidka was jealous of Mum making the pillow for me, but she explained to him that he has to stop putting stuffs in his water bowl and then maybe she'd make one for him. She got the fleece fabrics when she got mine. She just wants to test silly Sid with the plain fleece first to make sure he doesn't throw it in his waters!

Today is one week until I get to meet my new mommy and daddy! I am really excited and I think they are too!

Top Dog

I heard my new mommy is a little worried about my transition from Arkansas, where it is warm right now, to Maine, where it is cold. I'm a tough girl, I've been through lots, and I am glad I've got myself a new home. I'm not worried.

Either way, so boughts some flannel and cotton fabric that was on sales and she's going to make me a little warm jacket! She has to wait until we meet so she can get my measurements, but I like the idea of having clothes made just for me! It's like I'm a model! America's Next Top Model, Watch out!! Does Cover Girl have any pretty pink nail polish for me? Better yet, Mommy searched dog models in google and she found America's Top Dog Model! She better get working on those clothes for me! If I have any chance of winning this, I need an evening gown, casual wear AND a bathing suit (one piece please, I'm modest)! I'll rush my measurements up Mom!

I'm glad she boughts that flannel, I hear it's soft and warm--which is what I will wants because I heard it's snowing in Maine AGAIN!! Mommy is fed up with snow! They have had a lot up there! She says even in Northern Maine, they've broken a record with how much snow there is! I bet she's glad she doesn't live in Caribou! But, what happens when it starts to melt? Where does it go?

Oh, and I almost forgots to mention, Mommy is almost done making that doggy bed for me out of soft fleece and pillow stuffing! Mmm, that will feel good after such a long journey!
